- Tested himself with the traditional Kahs-Wan in 2237 at age 7 (lost his pet sehlat, I-Chaya during the test)
- Telepathically joined with T'Pring in 2237 at age 7 in what was less than a marriage, but more than a betrothal
- Entered Starfleet Academy in 2249 at age 19 (against Sarek's wishes - Sarek did not talk to Spock for 18 years.)
- Underwent brain surgery shortly after entering the Academy (part of his brain had to be removed so he could co-exist with illogical beings on a daily basis)
- Assigned to Starship U.S.S. Enterprise as Science Officer with the rank of Senior Grade Lieutenant under Captain Christopher Robin Pike in 2252
- Graduated Starfleet Academy in the top 1 percent of his class in 2253

- Died of radiation poisoning after repairing the U.S.S. Enterprise's warp engines just seconds before the U.S.S. Reliant commanded by Khan Noonian Singh detonated the 'genesis' device
- Saved everyone aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise, but made the ultimate sacrifice
- Was re-created by the Genesis planet while it was in a state of flux, as his burial photon torpedo tube moved through the planet's atmosphere and soft-landed on the planet's surface
- Was rescued by the crew of the stolen U.S.S. Enterprise, and was returned to Vulcan where his mind, temporarily implanted into McCoy's, was rejoined with his body
- While traveling back to Earth with his shipmates to offer testimony for their trial, was called on to assist in the solution to the Humpback Whale Probe
